STUNNING STUFF FROM LEICESTER YOUNGSTERS

LEICESTER’S brilliant youngsters stunned glamour club Cradley with a 51-39 win at Wolverhampton.

Former Lions man Max Clegg was unstoppable for the home side, but the all-round strength shown by the Lions Cubs won the meeting in style.
Former Cradley riders Tom Perry and Joe Lawlor were brought in to cover for injured key Leicester riders and a fine job - but local boys Joe and Dan Thompson once again stole the show.
The brilliant result came in the aftermath of a crash involving British youngster Sam Norris at Glasgow on Sunday. Sam is seriously ill in hospital and all at Leicester Speedway send him and his family our very best wishes.
Leicester co-boss Dave Howard said: “After what has happened over the last few days, it was an absolutely outstanding performance from everybody - a real team performance. Everybody played their part across the board.
“That’s three matches and 10 points out of 10 in the league, we couldn’t wish for a better start to the year.”
The Cubs are back in action on Saturday July 6 with Plymouth visiting the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena.
CRADLEY 39: Max Clegg 18, Danny Halsey 7+1, Jack Smith 6+1, Luke Harris 4+1, Tom Spencer 3, Harry McGurk 1, Sheldon Davies 0.
LEICESTER 51: Joe Thompson 11+1, Joe Lawlor 10+1, Danyon Hume 10, Tom Perry 9+1, Dan Thompson 7+2, Ryan MacDonald 4+2, Jamie Halder R/R.
